Smilin'

back to songs

"Smilin'is our Love ballad...  This song is a change for us because it would fall into the Pop/Rock category...  It also is our first song to feature female vocals...  The harmonies in the vocal lines nicely compliment the tear bringing music... (Yes this song has actually brought a tear to the eyes of a few people in the audience)...

Lyrics:

I count to three I close my eyes and still I hear you call-
ing to me at anytime that you begin to fall
I'll be there a shoulder to cry on whenever you need
a friend to turn, to turn the lights on when you cannot see

Cause when I see you I'm proud to be
Somewhere near you in this life today
When I hear you cry I get down on my knees
When I feel you ooooh
oooh I'm smilin' your way

Remember when we went downtown in the theater parking lot
the moon was bright the time was right we gave it all we got
A drink or two wont help me forget how we made love that night
That's how I know I should never put up that kind of fight

Cause when I see you I'm proud to be
Somewhere near you in this life today
When I hear you cry I get down on my knees
When I feel you ooooh
oooh I'm smilin' your way

I wonder if you even realize, that I believe in something in this life
I may be silent, but I'm no longer shy, yeah all I'm needing here is you and I
I see you in my mind I hear your voice.....
....oooh I'm smilin' your way
