Signs

back to songs

"Signs" was written musically and lyrically the week of and after September 11, 2001... Even though we had not been a band as a whole, all four of us were very inspired and irritated at those events, so we took out our frustrations musically... Whereas this piece does not talk about terrorism directly it is a point of view that can be taken to search for some sign of good in the world... it is there, but we just need to find it... We dedicate this song to all those innocents that had their lives taken from them that day, and to those of us who were affected by it... God Bless America...

Lyrics:

Staring at the Sun, just like everyone

Hoping I will see the light,

But all I ever see is my own dignity,

And all it does is make me blind.

Waiting for someone to set me free; Oh, somebody come and rescue me.

Some only see what they want to see; They want victory, but that's not me

I've searched everywhere far & wide; thought I found the answers, but I know I lied

I pushed away those bad things inside; I still need something so I wont hide

Something's keeping me away eternally, either I stop or I fall

At times I turn around & sit on the ground; I cannot penetrate this wall.

How do I cross this path when I'm away, Should I leave, should I stay

Keeping all my faith away, with everything I learn everyday.

My Pandora's Box it has no lock

It's open all the time.

It's the only thing that keeps me listening

For some kind of sign.

Oh oh please give me a sign, Break these chains and make my life mine.

All I'm asking is for some kind of sign to wake me, and make me see the light.

So many things to look up to... so give me a sign

All these choices what to do...give me a sign

Doing all these things without you...so give me a sign

That's what it seems though its not true...I need a little sign.

So give me a sign; give me a sign; give me a sign; just a little sign.
